Connect Your Mind, Body and Soul at Women's Health and Wellness Forum

It's an opportunity to learn how to better feed your mind, connect with your body and nurture your soul to stay healthy. On Friday, Oct. 17 from 7:30 - 10 a.m., Emory Crawford Long Hospital will host "Mind, Body & Soul - A Women's Health and Wellness Forum." The program is free and open to the public and will highlight the latest in women's health and wellness.

The forum is one of the many events the hospital is offering to the community this year as it celebrates 100 years of caring for Atlanta's citizens. Topics include: women and heart disease, breast health, plastic surgery and women's health, among others. Experts will talk about prevention, care and research in these specialties, as well as the importance of connecting mind, body and soul to stay healthy.

CNN medical correspondent Judy Fortin moderates the forum, with former CNN anchor and now author Daryn Kagan giving the keynote address. Learn about Emory's collaborative research efforts in women's health issues from WSB-TV's Dr. Randy Martin, who is also an Emory cardiologist. And former WSB-TV anchor and reporter JaQuitta Williams will share her inspirational breast cancer survivor story.

"This forum is an opportunity for women in the Atlanta community to learn about some of the many health issues that most affect them," says Dane Peterson, chief operating officer, Emory Crawford Long Hospital. "Attendees will hear from some of the top experts in the field, while learning about wellness, prevention and take home tips to stay healthy and active."
