Bariatric Patient Resources
Bariatric medical treatments and surgical procedures are just the beginning of a lifetime of healthy weight maintenance. The Emory Bariatric Center offers multiple ways to stay connected, motivated, and on-track with your individualized plan.
MyEmmi®
We want you to be as informed as possible about bariatric surgery so that you can make the best decision about your health. MyEmmi is an online, interactive patient education tool designed to help you learn about your surgical procedure. We request all surgery patients to view the assigned sessions before their surgery. Click here to access this free patient education material.
Exemplo Medical Patient Portal
As part of our ongoing mission to provide the best possible weight-loss and weight management experience, the Emory Bariatric Center has implemented an online resource to help patients track their weight, exercise, and food intake. Access to the Exemplo Medical Patient Portal is available to current patients. When you schedule your first physician visit, you will receive registration information.
Bariatric Surgery Support Group
We strongly encourage all bariatric surgery patients to attend monthly support group meetings (at least one of which should be before surgery). This monthly group is available for patients considering bariatric surgery and for those who have already had bariatric surgery at Emory or elsewhere. Led by dietitians, health-fitness specialists, and psychologists, group meetings are a place for patients to address surgery's impact on their lives, explore their changing motivators, while learning about ways of incorporating lifestyle changes for long term success. Lifetime membership in the support group is included in the program fee for Emory patients. Individuals who received bariatric surgery elsewhere will be charged a nominal fee.
Bariatric Surgery Support Group meets on the second Monday of each month on the fifth floor of The Emory Clinic, Building B, 1365 Clifton Road, NE, from 5:45 to 7 p.m.
