Emory University Hospital Midtown is one of the earliest centers in the United States to form a truly multidisciplinary pulmonary embolism response team. The team, formed by experts in lung, heart, blood, surgical and interventional treatment is available 24/7 to see patients admitted with pulmonary embolism or deep vein thrombosis. Emory’s team is also a founding member of the national Pulmonary Embolism Response Team Consortium. Members of the Emory team have lectured on pulmonary embolism in national conferences, have been involved in research in the field, and have published on the topic in top peer-reviewed journals. The surgeons on the team have access to the latest technologies used in thrombus treatment, and the intensive care units at Emory are adequately equipped and staffed to deal with the toughest cases.

If you wish to transfer a patient to Emory for acute treatment, please call 404-778-4930 and ask for the pulmonary embolism team.

To be seen in the outpatient clinic, please call 404-686-1474.
