Facial Peel

Our facial peels remove the superficial layers of skin, leaving fresh, renewed skin not yet damaged by the sun. The process also stimulates the skin to produce new collagen, for smoother skin texture. In this manner, a facial peel can improve fine lines and skin discoloration caused by the sun. Facial peels can also be used to remove pre-cancerous skin lesions or soften acne scars, and some facelift patients choose to use a facial peel to enhance results.

Emory offers several types of facial peels, and our physicians or aestheticians will evaluate your skin to determine which type is best for you.

Depending on the type of peel used, there may be a period of redness and flaking skin for a few days after your peel. Our aestheticians can recommend skin care products and makeup to use immediately after your peel, as well as over the long term to maintain results.

The types of peels used by the Emory Aesthetic Center include:

• Salicylic and Lactic Acid Peels
• SkinMedica Illuminize Peel
• SkinMedica Vitalize Peel
• SkinMedica Rejuvenize Peel
• Glycolic Peels
• Modified Jessner’s Peel
• Body Peels
