Heather Meissen

Heather Meissen, ACNP-BC, MSN, CCRN

Heather Meissen began her training at Birmingham Southern College in Birmingham, AL where she obtained her BS in Biology and Psychology in 2003.  She continued her education at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing where she obtained her MSN in Acute Care in 2005.  She moved to Atlanta, GA in 2005 and began working at Emory University Hospital in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit where she remains today.

Heather serves on the Post Graduate Education Committee for the Society of Critical Care Medicine.  She also serves as a content expert for the ACNP certification exam for the American Nurses Credentialing Center.  She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, the American Nurses Association, and the American Association of Critical Care Nurses.

Heather has a passion for teaching, which has included many preceptorships with the Emory School of Nursing.  She received the Advancing Education Award presented by the Emory Critical Care Center in 2011.
