  • 4 ounces nonfat cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup plain nonfat yogurt
  • 2 Tablespoons honey
  • 2 Tablespoons grated fresh ginger
from a 2–inch piece of ginger root
  • Grated zest of a lime
  • 2 Tablespoons lime juice

In a bowl, whisk softened cream cheese with a hand mixer until fluffy. Add yogurt and mix until combined. Trim away the outer peel of a two-inch piece of ginger root with a vegetable peeler or paring knife. Use a microplane grater to grate the ginger root. Whisk the ginger root, honey and lime juice into the yogurt mixture. Fold in the grated lime zest.

Serve with sliced apples, bananas, or pears. Makes about 1 pint.
