Why become a Friend to the Fuqua Center?
The Fuqua Center for Late-Life Depression is a non-profit organization that relies on private support from our Friends in the community to sustain its comprehensive programs and services. Today, in a changing healthcare environment in which academic centers are challenged to maintain funding for programs, the revenue from Medicare and other insurance providers is far less than the anticipated cost of providing needed services. We need your support to continue improving access to treatment for depression, and public awareness and understanding of depression in older adults. Your support will help us continue to:

  • Allow older adults to remain in the community with family and friends
  • Develop outreach efforts aimed at identifying older adults who are depressed and might not otherwise receive the care they need
  • Spend necessary time with family and care providers so together with the clinician they can plan for their loved one's care
  • Educate staff and families regarding the care of older adults with depression
  • Investigate new treatment options for depression
  • Collaborate with state and local agencies to improve the delivery of mental health services for older adults

Where will my donation go?
Each donation will go directly to patient care for those in need through our clinical services and community education and outreach programs. Gifts of any size are appreciated as every gift impacts the future of our services and programs. Your generosity can help shape tomorrow's mental health care of older adults and solidify the Fuqua Center's presence far into the future as a resource for patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers. Become a Friend of the Fuqua Center today!
