Neuromuscular Disorders refers to a number of diseases that affect nerve, muscle, the neuromuscular junction, and motor and sensory neurons. Symptoms of neuromuscular disease include:

  • weakness
  • numbness
  • loss of balance
  • muscle atrophy or twitching
  • pain

Some of the diagnoses fitting into the category of Neuromuscular diseases include:

  • Peripheral Neuropathy
  • Diabetic neuropathy
  • Guillain Barre Syndrome
  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • Muscular Dystrophy
  • Myasthenia Gravis
  • Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)

The Neuromuscular Division offers full diagnostic and treatment services including Electrodiagnosis and Nerve/ Muscle biopsy and interpretation. We are nationally recognized as a center for patients with Neuromuscular diseases, and serve as the major referral center for the Atlanta area.
