Michael Newsome, PT, OSC, CSCS

Michael is the facility manager at Emory Physical Therapy and has been a staff member since 1991. Michael completed his biology degree from Presbyterian College in 1985 and his physical therapy degree in 1998 from Georgia State University. Michael continued his education by becoming certified in Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment of Spine from the McKenzie Institute in 1995. He then became a board certified clinical specialist in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy in 1996, and received his Manual Therapy certification at the University of St. Augustine in 2000. Mike has been a guest lecturer on many occasions and taught continuing education courses on the shoulder, knee, hip, and spine. He is a member of the orthopaedic and sports therapy sections of the American Physical Therapy Association and a member of the McKenzie Institute.

Michael is also certified as a strength and conditioning specialist.
