W. Scott Kimmerly, MD
 Scott Kimmerly is an assistant professor of orthopedic surgery at Emory University. He also serves as Chief of the Sports Medicine service at Grady Hospital. He recently returned to Atlanta from Colorado where he was on staff at the Steadman-Hawkins clinic in Vail. His clinical interests include arthroscopic surgery of the knee, shoulder, hip, and ankle. He also specializes in multi-ligamentous knee injuries and peri-articular trauma.
Dr. Kimmerly received his undergraduate degree in political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He attended medical school at the University of Tennessee. From there he completed an orthopedic surgery residency at Emory University. While there, he assisted with the sports medicine coverage of both Georgia Tech and Emory University. After Emory, he completed a one year fellowship in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery of the knee, shoulder, and hip at the Steadman-Hawkins clinic in Vail, Colorado. Following this, he embarked on a traveling fellowship in sports-related foot and ankle injuries. He returned to Steadman-Hawkins afterwards and was a member of the orthopedic staff until his return to Emory.
Dr. Kimmerly is a candidate member of both the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons as well as the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine. He is board eligible in the field of orthopaedic surgery. He has authored numerous orthopedic publications, presentations, and video demonstrations. Throughout his career, he has been involved in the care of athletes, including at the professional, collegiate, high school, and recreational levels. He is currently an official provider for both the United States Ski and Snowboard teams.
