Bladder cancer can sometimes be found early. Finding it early improves the chances that it can be treated successfully.

Bladder cancer is diagnosed by examination of cells in the urine and examination of the bladder wall with a cytoscope, a slender tube fitted with a lens and light that can be inserted through the urethra.
