Questions for Your Doctor

As you cope with your cancer and cancer treatment, we encourage you to have honest, open discussions with the doctor. Feel free to ask any question that's on your mind, no matter how small it might seem. Here are some questions you might want to ask. Be sure to add your own questions as well.

  • Would you please write down the exact kind of cancer this is?
  • Has the cancer spread beyond the bladder where it started?
  • What is the stage of the cancer and what does that mean?
  • What treatment choices are there?
  • What do you suggest and why?
  • What is the goal of this treatment?
  • What risks or side effects are there to the treatment you suggest?
  • What are the chances of the cancer coming back after treatment?
  • What should we do to get ready for treatment?
