Accreditations & Awards
- E.A.G.L.E. ACCREDITATION: In the fall of 2000, Wesley Woods Center was re-accredited by the United Methodist Association EAGLE Accreditation program. EAGLE stands for Educational Assessment Guidelines Leading Toward Excellence.
EAGLE 's accreditation process differs from that of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations by focusing on an organization's interaction with the community and spiritual provisions provided for patients, family and staff.
The EAGLE review team complemented the staff on their ability to "live out" the organization's values of compassion, caring, dignity, competency, stewardship, innovation, and inclusiveness.
- JCAHO ACCREDITATION: The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations is an independent, not-for-profit organization that evaluates and accredits about 20,000 healthcare organizations including hospitals, ambulatory care centers and long term care facilities. JCAHO accreditation means that an organization has voluntarily sought to be evaluated and has met national health and safety standards. Before JCAHO accredits a healthcare facility they conduct onsite surveys to review the hospital's medical and nursing care, physical condition, life safety program, special care units, pharmaceutical services, infection control procedures and other areas affecting patient care.
The JCAHO Long Term Care Accreditation Process accredited Budd Terrace in 1998. The next review will be scheduled for some time during 2001.
The Geriatric Hospital and Outpatient Clinic received accreditation in 1999 through the Hospital and Laboratory Accreditation programs. The next review will be scheduled in 2002.
