Emory offers a monthly orientation to help patients, family members and friends understand the BMT process and requirements. Speakers include the physician, nurse, social worker, cell separator representative and the transplant chaplain. A former BMT patient is also invited to speak. The session includes everything you need to know about having a bone marrow transplant. Monthly Discharge Orientations Emory offers a Discharge Orientation that provides patients with in-depth information about caring for themselves at home. Speakers at the orientation include nurses, nutritionists and pharmacists who provide instructions on resuming activities, nutrition and maintenance health care.
