At Emory, our breast health programs provide the best breast cancer treatment available. Every three minutes throughout the world, a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer. But successful breast cancer treatment has been greatly enhanced by diagnosis and treatment in the earliest stages. Eight out of ten breast lumps are not cancerous, and a breast health regimen such as a mammogram can successfully detect breast cancer up to two years before it can be felt with self-examination.
At the Emory Breast Center, we understand that the diagnosis of breast cancer represents an experience of tremendous stress, anxiety and confusion for both the individual diagnosed and for the family members. We believe that providing the best breast cancer treatment possible must include assisting those diagnosed with breast cancer and their families with the multitude of decisions that must be made at this very difficult time.

The Emory Breast Center offers a comprehensive approach to breast health and breast cancer treatment. The comprehensive team of breast health specialists — including radiologists, medical oncologists, surgical oncologists, radiation oncologists, advanced practitioners, pharmacists, nurses and researchers — is committed to serving the needs of our patients, and we believe that every case is different. Meeting once a week, your breast cancer treatment team discusses patient cases on an individual basis and collectively determines the most effective, tailored treatment for each specific case.
