Had a Heart Attack or Stroke?
Emory Has A Special Support Group Just For You

Sponsored by the Emory Office of Community Affairs, the "Love and Courage Stroke and Heart Disease Survivors" support group is open to anyone living with high blood pressure or cardiovascular disease.

Louise C. Strozier, a three-year stroke survivor, formed the "Love and Courage" group as an extension of a support group she joined at Emory's Center for Rehabilitation Medicine. "My stroke experience led me on a journey of trying to locate available resources," she said. "I wasn't able to do that until I came to Emory and learned about the stroke support group, which has been very helpful to me. I was able to meet other survivors and find genuine warmth and acceptance."

The "Love and Courage Stroke and Heart Disease Survivors" support group meets the third Tuesday of the month from 2:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. at the Helen S. Mills Multipurpose Facility at 515 John Wesley Dobbs Avenue, NE Atlanta. For directions, call (404) 523-3353.

For more information on the support group, call Louise Strozier at (404) 758-3555.
