Our patients share their Superior Experience and illustrate why you can trust the experts at Emory Vision:
"My niece, my sister-in-law and I had been talking about lasik surgery for a long time. We came together to see a presentation and were impressed with the professionalism and the friendliness of everyone at Emory Vision. Dr. Randleman did all of our surgeries in December and January...two of us on the same day! We are ecstatic because each of us now has 20-20 or better vision without contacts or glasses. We believe the people at Emory Vision have the best job ever, helping people to benefit from this miracle! Thank you to the wonderful staff and Dr Randleman!"

Dear Marika, Thanks to everyone at Emory Vision, and especially Dr. R. Doyle Stulting, for the BEST medical experience I have ever had! I recently had LASIK surgery performed on my right eye to improve my distance vision. The surgery improved my vision from 80/20 to 20/20 and it's getting better and better each day. I haven't seen this well since 6th grade!!!! The results are simply amazing!!! I can't believe that I delayed this surgery for years. I wish I would have done it a lot sooner.
While the results are fantastic, I wanted to let you know about my experience as a customer. Yes that's right. CUSTOMER not patient! I have had six major surgical experiences in my 49 years, some elective and some not, so I have a solid basis of comparison. In my past medical experiences, I have always felt like a patient. Someone who is put through the paces and procedures by technically competent personnel with little concern for me as a human being. As a former Vice President of Quality for a major Fortune 500 company and a consultant who teaches many Fortune 500 companies about superior customer service, I have to say that the team at Emory Vision is the best I have ever encountered. Everyone was extremely pleasant and friendly. Each person I interacted with knew my name, seemed genuinely pleased to be a part of the Emory Vision Team, and spent as much time as I needed to get comfortable with the procedure. How refreshing! I will highly recommend this superior team to my friends, family and business associates. Keep up the fantastic work!
With incredible gratitude, Deb W.
"Being a musician and playing smoky clubs and theatres, and working in dimmly lit studios, wearing contacts were a hindrance. Always adjusting them, squirting unfathomable amounts of lubricant in my eyes, it became obvious i had to find an alternative. A friend hipped me to Emory Vision. To say the least, I was scared to have anything done like this. But the staff (which should get a customer service award for friendliness) and Dr. Randleman assured me there were no worries. I attended one of Dr Randleman's LASIK seminars and learned about the procedure. The LASIK process was a lot quicker than you can ever imagine, and the results are simply...amazing. Pardon the pun, but I've gone forward and never looked back, and am glad I did. Pound for pound, I can honestly say, this is the best money spent my entire life. Period! Thank you so much Dr. Randleman."

Lasik surgery has literally changed my life. I don't mean to sound like I'm exaggerating, because I'm not.
When I wake up in the morning I'm not fumbling for my glasses. When it rains outside, I no longer have glasses to get fogged up or streaked with water. When I take a shower, I can read the shampoo bottle if I want to, and sometimes, if I look far into the distance, I can actually see leaves on trees that I was unable to see before even with my glasses. But these are just the little ways I have noticed, the overall effect is that I don't feel helpless anymore.
I hadn't realized how dependent I was on my glasses (and contacts were too uncomfortable and too much of a hassle) until I was freed from them. I have always loved glasses as a fashion statement, and now I can wear them if I want to, but if they don't go with my outfit I'm not tied to them. I feel like a completely self-sufficient being now that I don't have to depend on a piece of plastic on my face in order to function.
I felt confident that the Emory team would take great care of me. Dr. Stulting was very professional and made me feel at ease, and the entire office staff was very courteous and accomodating. I was impressed with how Dr. Stulting took personal care of me; he called me at home the night after my surgery to see how I was doing. Not only did Emory Laser Vision do a beautiful job, the surgery has actually improved my vision more than my vision prescription was ever able to.
I highly recommend Emory Laser Vision as a safe and reliable place to get Lasik surgery and a warm, friendly environment. My experience was a flawless one. Thank you so much for taking such great care of me! Carrie C.
- I've been given my eyes back!
- It's the most exciting thing I've done since I gave birth to my precious son and daughter!
- My husband now fondly refers to me as "The Bionic Woman!"
- "I've had worse MANICURES.!"...I chuckled to my Emory surgeon (Dr. Stulting) during my Lasik procedure.
- Rolling back the years of nearsightedness in a few minutes was simply amazing!
- When I was in the 4th grade and got thick glasses — I would DREAM of the day a "miracle" would happen to give me perfect vision again.
- Words can't express what it means to wake up to crisp, crystal clear mornings. For years, I fumbled for my glasses just to see the digital clock beside my bed!
- Getting ready in the morning is now so quick and easy.
- I'm FINALLY free from fussing with (and the expense of) hydrating drops, bottles of saline, daily cleaners, enzymatic treatments, contacts AND glasses!
- Spring and Fall allergy seasons no longer cause me to suffer. I used to "squint like a mole" everytime my contacts dried out.
- I don't dread evening events anymore! I used to worry that I wouldn't be able to stand keeping my dry, scratchy and often blurry contacts in my eyes.
- Swimming UNDERWATER WITH MY EYES OPEN with my kids this past summer was incredible! In the past, contacts prevented me from enjoying this simple pleasure. Swimming without my contacts usually resulted in many head bumps on the side of the pool!!!
- The staff (and especially, my hero Dr. Stulting!) shared in my excitement and made my Lasik procedure an absolutely wonderful experience.
- My ONLY regret is that I didn't do this sooner!
- LASIK HAS SIMPLIFIED MY LIFE!
November 11, 2005 To: The Staff of Emory Vision Regarding: My Initial Exam
As the owner of an Ambulatory Surgery Center company I have very high expectations for the quality of care all patients receive in this type of setting. The centers run by my firm are developed with a passionate attention to detail and unwavering commitment to providing the best possible experience and outcome. My experience at Emory Vision yesterday was a perfect example of that philosophy in action.
Although my glasses have become a greater burden in the past few years, I avoided an eye exam because I did not think that it was possible to go through the experience without great discomfort and anxiety. As I expressed my personal apprehension about having any type of treatment to my eyes to Teresa, the ophthalmic technician who was performing the majority of my tests, she managed to make me feel relaxed and comfortable. I was treated professionally by all of the staff, who answered my questions and provided me with honest answers in terms I could understand. I felt as though I was the only patient in the center and had individualized attention.
At the end of the exam, Dr. Randleman discovered that I have a predisposition to an eye condition that may be aggravated by traditional LASIK, and recommended a slightly different procedure because it "may be a better alternative for my vision in the long term". He explained that new research showed that this option could provide a better outcome for my vision 30 years from now! That attention to detail and commitment to put my long term health above all else was extremely gratifying. (Interestingly, I had an exam at another facility that did not mention this condition or its possible complications to me.)
I will use my experience as a teaching tool to my staff and recommend anyone I know considering this procedure to your facility.
Thank you for a great experience.
Sincerely,
Roger N. Philips CEO Ambulatory Service Associates, LLC
