ING Georgia Marathon and Half Marathon

Please take the time to read the important information below regarding upcoming events and the t-shirt distribution schedule.

When is the registration period?
Registration is now open to the general public. Emory Healthcare and Emory University employees can register on the Emory team until March 24, 2008; however, anyone not registered by Sunday, February 24, 2008, will not have their first name printed on their bib number. All Emory employees received a discounted registration rate.  All participants will receive confirmation by email upon registering. For information regarding registering under the Emory Team, please contact Lindsye Mitchell at Lindsye.Mitchell@emoryhealthcare.org

Are there any entry requirements? Yes.

  • Entry fees are NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFERABLE.
  • You must be able to complete the marathon or half marathon in 7 hours.
  • You must be at least 14 years old to run the half marathon.
  • You must be at least 18 years old to run the full marathon.
  • You must be in good health and physically prepared to run the marathon or half marathon.
  • Race numbers are required to participate.
  • You must show a photo ID to pick-up your race packet. NO RACE DAY PACKET PICK-UP!
  • NO race day registration.
  • NO coaches, headphones, skateboards, baby joggers, bikes, animals or in-line skates will be allowed on the course.
  • NO confirmation cards will be mailed for the 2008 race. Instead, you will receive an email confirmation.  Should your e-mail change, please contact the ING Georgia Marathon at info@inggeorgiamarathon.com

When will I receive my number?
Marathon and Half Marathon participants MUST pick up their race packets on either Friday, March 28th from 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. or on Saturday, March 29th from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. at the ING Georgia Marathon Health & Fitness Expo. Be prepared to show email confirmation and proper ID.  Race packet will include race bib number, ChampionChip and Mizuno technical running shirt.  There is no Race Day Packet Pick-up.

ING Georgia Marathon and Half Marathon Expo
The ING Georgia Marathon Health and Fitness Expo focuses on the health, fitness and wellness of runners and endurance athletes. In addition, there will be areas of interest including "The Georgia Experience" featuring attractions, products and services of Georgia. Along with race number, goodie bag and race packet pick-up, exhibitors include retailers, personal trainers, nutritionists, physiotherapists, and other health professionals. There will also be great bargains on running and fitness gear, free sampling, free massages and information on equipment and nutrition. The ING Health & Fitness Expo is free and open to the public. All Expo visitors are encouraged to take MARTA. The closest MARTA Stations are the CNN Center and GWCC station.

Emory Team Post Race Refreshment Tent
Visit the Emory team tent after the race to refuel and have fun with your colleagues. Dr. Johns will be there to greet the Emory team participants and we will serve bagels, danishes, fruits, muffins and plenty of water! We will post the tent location on the internet and intranet to direct you to the tent location.
