Currently, we have 22 operating rooms including a new Interventional OR for endovascular cases and endoscopic cardiac surgeries. An average day for us includes approximately 50 surgical procedures.
Career Paths
Career paths in OR are readily available through our Levels Program. Designed to help beginning nurses or surgical technologists reach a higher level, the program is a successful outcome of our fundamental mission to help others learn. Our surgeons are dedicated to teaching and often spend extra time with team members to develop skills and enhance knowledge.
Electronic Medical Record
This collaborative, multi-disciplinary effort is changing the way we provide care in the OR and throughout our hospitals and clinics. With this new technology, information is available system-wide immediately and simultaneously. It is readily available every time a patient visits a new care area within EMORY HEALTHCARE. Clinicians can collaboratively validate, rather than independently document, the same patient history and information such as height, age, allergies, etc. Additionally, nurses can enter patient information, diagnoses, prescriptions and orders directly into computers located in exam rooms, the OR, at the bedside or at nurses' stations.
