Orientation at a higher level
Working at a higher level starts with learning at a higher level. As an academic health care organization, we greatly value education and therefore require all our employees to begin their careers at Emory Healthcare with a two-day employee orientation program. Please note: The post-offer health assessment needs to be completed before you begin orientation. Scroll down or click on the links below for helpful information about this valuable learning opportunity.
Orientation Attire Your first day of orientation is your first day of work at Emory Healthcare and we ask that all employees dress in the appropriate business attire. Our official dress code will be distributed and discussed at orientation.
Photo ID Card To assure the safety and security of staff and patients, all employees wear an official Emory Healthcare photo identification badge. If you do not already have your ID, please obtain it as soon as possible. This is your access card for entry into Emory Healthcare buildings and some internal work areas.
Parking/Transportation You can arrange for employee parking or Marta transportation even before you begin orientation. By taking care of this early you can begin parking in your designated employee parking area. If New Employee Orientation is being held at your home-base, we ask that you park in your designated parking. If New Employee Orientation is not being held in your home-base, you may park in visitor parking and your parking will be validated. At Emory Crawford Long Hospital you may park in the visitor parking deck on the corner of West Peachtree and Pine streets. At Emory University Hospital you may park in the visitor parking deck off Lowergate Drive. Please note: Valet parking is reserved for our patients and visitors.
Many Emory Healthcare employees take advantage of the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) and car pooling subsidies. If you choose to use MARTA buses and trains, you may apply to receive a transit card.
Emory Shuttle Emory provides a shuttle service between Emory University parking decks and work sites, Emory Crawford Long Hospital, Emory University Hospital, Emory University, Decatur Plaza and Grady Hospital. Shuttle routes and times vary. A complete list of route information is available through the public safety department at Emory University Hospital in room B125 and at the main lobby concierge desk. At Emory Crawford Long Hospital, shuttle schedules are available in the public safety department and at the guest services desk in the main lobby.
