  • Muscle-Nerve-Muscle Neurotization in Unilateral Vocal Fold Paralysis
    Preceptor: Norman Hogikyan, MD; University of Michigan
    Development and utilization of a feline hemilaryngeal denervation model to assess muscle-nerve-muscle neurotization for the treatment of unilateral vocal fold paralysis.  January 1999 - September 2000.
  • Salivary Gland Tumor Allelotype
    Preceptor: David Sidransky, Johns Hopkins School of Medicine
    Microsatellite markers spanning the genome were used to evaluate loss of heterozygosity in human primary pleomorphic adenomas, adenoid cystic carcinomas, and mucoepidermoid carcinomas.  Mary 1995 - August 1995.
  • Mutations of the RET Proto-oncogene in Medullary Thyroid Carcinoma
    Preceptor: David Sidransky, Johns Hopkins School of Medicine
    Primary human MTC's from patients iwth MEN2a, MEN2b, FMTC, and sporadic tumors were sequenced for mutations in the RET proto-oncogene.  June 2993 - August 1993.
  • Development of Murine C3/BGal Fusion Gene
    Preceptor: Donal Coffey, Johns Hopkins School of Medicine
    A model to direct the expression of genes to the murine prostate gland was created with a C3/BGal fusion product.  A transgenice mouse was made with teh fusion gene.  June 1991 - August 1991.
