AccommodationsDoctor and Patient
Every effort is made to assign you to a room and nursing unit that best meets your needs. If your requirements for care change during the course of your hospitalization, you may be transferred to a unit better suited to care for you.

With the exception of intensive care areas, each room has a television and telephone. Personal care items such as combs, toothbrushes and deodorant are available for a small charge.

Food
For Visitors: Emory University Hospital and its surrounding area offer visitors a variety of choices for food and snacks.

Meals are available for visitors of patients who must have someone with them at all times. Request guest meals at the nursing station at least two hours before meal service times. Only one guest meal per patient, please. Guest meals will be billed to the patient and are not covered by insurance.

  • Asbury Court (take the E-wing or G-wing elevators to the ground floor) features a variety of foods. Call 2-GOOD for daily menus. Valuables and Personal Belongings
Please help us protect your valuables and personal belongings while you are here by taking these precautions: Leave valuable jewelry or watches at home as well as billfolds or pocketbooks containing large amounts of money. Ask your nurse to lock small valuable items in the hospital safe.

Personal belonging bags for your clothing are available from your nurse, who also will be glad to provide you a case to protect your glasses when you're not wearing them. Please do not wrap dentures or hearing aids in tissue and place them on your food tray, bedside table or night stand. They are easily mistaken for trash. And finally, remember to label all your containers or bags with your name and room number.

Banking
ATMs are located in the second-floor atrium, just outside the admissions area, and outside Asbury Court cafeteria on the ground floor. For neighborhood banking locations, please ask the concierge.

Visiting Hours
Visitors play an important part in patient care and recovery. Generally, visiting hours are from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. In the best interest of the patient, this may vary from unit to unit to allow patients periods of uninterrupted rest. Children under 12 should be discouraged from visiting the nursing units and waiting areas. Consult your nurse if you need further information.

Waiting Rooms
Waiting rooms for family and friends are located throughout the hospital as close to each nursing unit as space permits. Our staff and volunteers will be happy to direct your family and friends to the appropriate waiting area.

Please Remember
Smoking is prohibited on hospital property.

Cellular telephones are allowed in the hospital, except in areas designated as restricted. Non-hospital approved two-way radios, walkie-talkies and emergency band scanners are prohibited from use inside the hospital.
