There are several different FDA approved materials available for line and wrinkle therapy and facial volume enhancement. Products such as Cosmoderm®, Cosmoplast® and Restylane® are intended to create a volumetric enhancement to the skin and will last for approximately 3-12 months depending on what is injected and where on the face it is placed. Sculptra® is a stimulant of the patient's own collagen and may provide several years of volumetric enhancement. However, Sculptra® takes several months to show results where as the other materials provide instantaneous improvement.
