How to contact us, your first visit, and where we are

Scheduling Details

Patients have two options for scheduling an initial consultation with an Emory general thoracic surgeon:

	Contact Emory HealthConnection at 404-778-7777 or 1-800-75-EMORY (1-800-753-6679). HealthConnection offers immediate access to information on Emory services and physicians.

Referring physicians also have two options:

A financial assessment will be performed prior to confirming an appointment. The following information will expedite the scheduling process:

	Referral from the primary care physician (if surgery is medically necessary), as well as the physician's name, address and telephone number
	Patient's name, address and telephone number
	Patient's date of birth
	Patient's social security number
	Diagnosis and date of diagnosis
	Prior treatment, if any
	Insurance information

First Visit

Your initial consultation will include an evaluation based on current symptoms or conditions and compilation of a thorough medical history. Please bring all medical records, radiology studies and pathology slides related to your diagnosis. In fact, it is helpful for copies of these items to be reviewed by the surgeon before the appointment, though not mandatory. If interested in this option, please call 404-778-3593. In coordination with the referring physician, a treatment plan is developed after the initial visit.
