Cardiology Learning Center
Fusing the latest in medical and technological advancements, the Carlyle Fraser Heart Center is one of the most progressive and comprehensive heart centers in the country. Established as a premier training and educational site for physicians and associated healthcare professionals, high-definition (HD) television capabilities make the Heart Center’s educational facility the first-of-its-kind in the world.
HIGH-DEFINITION MEDICAL TELEVISION
- Four HD robotic cameras capable of sending true HD images
(Three cameras are mounted in three different labs; one is mobile and able to send images from any lab)
- Fiber lines to teleport for live satellite uplink connection to anywhere in the world
- Wireless audio in labs for two-way communication with outside audience
- Capable of recording live cases for playback on HD video tape recorder
- HD production switcher with multi-effects (i.e., picture-in-picture, split screen)
- HD character generator for on-screen name and locater identification.
MULTI-PURPOSE CONFERENCE ROOM & AUDITORIUM
Classroom Style Conference Room: 34 seats with tabletop microphones for audience talk-back to labs or remote audience
Auditorium:
- 150 seats with desks in theater/stadium-style auditorium
- Stationary and cordless microphones for audience talk-back to labs or remote audience
- Four additional classrooms with size-adjusted flexibility are located adjacent to the auditorium (total capacity: 75)
In addition, both facilities have the following capabilities:
- Three mounted cameras for audience and speaker images
- Teleconference ready
- Two high-resolution projectors to display HD-quality images
- Two projection screens in the front of the room for simultaneous viewing of images
- Plasma screens for speaker confidence
