The Emory Obstetrics and Gynecology Division has a long history of caring for the lifetime health needs of women. Whether you need routine gynecological care, are thinking about having a baby, or are pregnant, our physicians offer the expertise, compassion and experience you desire.
Supported by the Emory University School of Medicine, patients have the added benefits of constant medical research and advances, state-of-the-art equipment, and gynecologists and obstetricians who are professors, innovators and leaders in their field.
The Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics is part of the Emory University School of Medicine, one of the world's leading medical institutions, and EMORY HEALTHCARE, a comprehensive health system serving the southeast region of the United States.
Established more than 75 years ago, the Department's services are based in Atlanta, Georgia, and include patient consultation, treatment, research and professional leadership that extend across the globe. We are nationally renowned for our Residency Training Program, and more than 422 Emory-trained gynecologists and obstetricians now practice medicine throughout the world.
Because Emory is an academic institution, patients have access to the latest innovative procedures, most advanced medical skills and techniques as well as state-of-the-art equipment. To that end, we remain committed to research as a priority in our department. Our reproductive specialists and embryologists are leaders in reproductive innovation and research with our Emory Reproductive Center boasting pregnancy rates that exceed the national average. We have also been recognized by the National Institute for Health for our research efforts in the following areas:
- cervical cancer
- breast cancer
- endometriosis
- HIV prevention
As we look to the future, our goals include improving gynecological and obstetrical care and education in the local neighborhoods in Atlanta as well as the communities throughout the state and beyond.
