First Consultation and Clinical Locations

Patients and referring physicians should contact 404.686.8143 from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time), Monday-Friday, to schedule an initial consultation with an Emory plastic and reconstructive surgeon. Patients requesting non-insurance covered procedures will be directed to The Emory Aesthetic Surgery Center at Paces, 678.420.7046. Although a fee range may be provided by telephone for a particular service, an exact quote can only be given after the first appointment.

A financial assessment will be performed prior to confirming an appointment. The following information will expedite the scheduling process:

• Referral from the primary care physician (if surgery is medically necessary)
  
• The treating physician's name, address and telephone number
  
• The patient's name, address, telephone number, date of birth and social security number
  
• Diagnosis and date of diagnosis
  
• Insurance information or payment option details (for procedures not covered by insurance)

The initial visit will include an evaluation based on current symptoms or conditions, the compilation of a thorough medical history and a physical examination. The patient should bring any additional medical records related to their diagnosis or condition and allow extra time for paperwork and photography. In fact, it is helpful for copies of any prior medical records to be reviewed by the surgeon before the scheduled appointment, though not mandatory. In coordination with the referring physician, a treatment plan is developed after the initial visit based on the particular medical needs of the patient.

Listed below, the Center has two primary clinical locations. Emory Crawford Long Hospital is the setting for procedures that have some type of insurance/benefit coverage, while The Emory Aesthetic Surgery Center at Paces is the location for services such as many cosmetic procedures that insurance companies typically will not cover.
