Emory Radiology’s Musculoskeletal Division, located at Executive Park in Atlanta, offers advanced diagnostic imaging to evaluate the musculoskeletal system. The division, which is responsible for interpreting musculoskeletal studies for much of the EMORY HEALTHCARE system, offers a complete array of services and procedures with state-of-the-art facilities at the Emory Orthopaedics & Spine Center, The Emory Clinic, Emory University Hospital and Wesley Woods Center.
The Musculoskeletal Radiology team is comprised of three faculty members and two fellows who are board-certified radiologists specializing in musculoskeletal imaging, as well as rotating residents. Collectively, the team has more than 50 years of experience. In addition, our highly trained, experienced technologists, who perform only musculoskeletal imaging, are skilled in producing the highest quality images.
Used exclusively for musculoskeletal imaging, a 3.0-Tesla magnetic resonance scanner (3.0T MRI) was recently installed, with the most current software available. The new 3.0T MRI gives Emory radiologists the ability to detect smaller injuries and subtle abnormalities, which may permit earlier intervention and prevention of progressive diseases. Radiology and diagnostic imaging equipment available at the Emory Orthopaedics & Spine Center also includes a multi-slice computed tomography scanner (CT) with 3-D imaging.
Offering world-class patient care, clinical expertise and innovative research, our physicians are leaders in the field. Emory investigators and educators train musculoskeletal radiologists as part of an established fellowship program and are involved in various aspects of musculoskeletal imaging research.
Radiology and diagnostic imaging services available at the Emory Orthopaedics & Spine Center:
- Multi-slice CT with 3-D imaging
- 3.0T MRI
- 1.5T MRI
- Fluoroscopy and arthrography
- General X-ray
