The Emory MBNA Stroke Center is at the forefront of new developments and is pioneering new approaches for the diagnosis and treatment of stroke and other cerebrovascular diseases, including advanced medical, surgical and endovascular techniques. As an academically based medical treatment center and a division of the world-renowned Emory University School of Medicine, we have access to state-of-the-art technologies and the collaborative resources of a full range of specialty and sub-specialty physicians.

The center was made possible with a $7.5 million gift from MBNA America Bank, headquartered in Wilmington, Delaware. Thanks to the company's generous donation, Emory specialists in neurology, neurosurgery, neurocritical care and interventional neuroradiology collaborate in the areas of patient care, education and research for stroke.
Daniel L. Barrow, MD directs our staff and is also the Chief of Neurological Surgery Services at Emory University Hospital. In addition to our outstanding physician team, our staff includes nurses and nurse practitioners, specially trained in a complete range of preventive therapies and treatment procedures for stroke.
Our Rehabilitative Stroke team includes expert speech therapists, physical therapists and occupational therapists who specialize in helping stroke patients regain their independence.
