Admissions is located adjacent to the hospital lobby. If assistance is required to help the patient into the hospital, you can go to the admissions office and either an admissions officer or a nurse will help you with the patient and their belongings.
Before the patient goes to the unit, the admissions representative will want to speak with the patient and the family/guardian to collect patient information, to provide hospital related information and to complete some paperwork. If the patient is very ill or if they arrive by ambulance, the family/guardian will go the admissions office while the patient is moved directly to the unit. When the meeting with the admissions representative is complete, the patient and family will be escorted to the unit and introduced to the staff there.
