Originally from Giza, Egypt, Dr. Heba Iskandar graduated from Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine. There, she was nominated into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, a professional medical organization which recognizes and advocates for excellence in scholarship and the highest ideals in the profession of medicine. She continued her studies, completing her residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in gastroenterology as well as a Master of Science in Clinical Investigation.

Dr. Iskandar chose to focus in gastroenterology because it offers the opportunity to treat both chronic and acute illness with both medications and hands-on procedures. Her focus is inflammatory bowel diseases and is passionate about improving the quality of life for inflammatory bowel disease patients through her medical practice and her clinical research at Emory University.  She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.
