U.S. News & World Report has released their annual rankings of America's Best Hospitals. This year, they also included regional rankings for 52 metropolitan areas around the U.S. In both polls, Emory was a standout. Emory University Hospital was ranked as the top hospital in Atlanta and recognized with national rankings in 11 specialty areas. Emory Performs Georgia's First Hand Transplant, 14th Procedure in the Nation
Transplant surgeons at Emory University Hospital have successfully completed the program’s first hand transplant. The procedure marks the first hand transplant in both Georgia and the Southeast, and only the 14th complete hand transplant in the U.S. Emory transplant specialists performed this rare hand transplant procedure for Linda Lu, a 21-year-old student who’s arm was amputated at the age of 1 due to Kawasaki Disease.
