Emory Health Source

June 2010

Congratulations. It’s a blog!

Heart Blog

Emory Heart & Vascular Center has released its official Heart & Vascular Blog. As part of the organizational "Advancing Your Health Blog," the goal of the Heart & Vascular Blog is to give patients and the Emory community a place to interact with Emory Healthcare's Heart and Vascular physicians, staff, and other patients. The blog will feature physician Q&A sessions, patient stories, information to help educate readers on matters of the heart, and updates on heart related news and breakthroughs, such as Emory University Hospital's Cardiac Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) destination therapy program. As the only certified VAD program in Georgia, and one of only 80 nationwide that have been designated with the "Gold Seal of Approval" from the Joint Commission, Emory's VAD program is quickly becoming a topic of interest for patients and the community. Be sure to check out the Heart Blog and subscribe to the Heart Blog feed to receive updates and opportunities to interact with the Emory Healthcare Heart and Vascular team!

NEW Outpatient Pharmacy

Pharmacy at Emory

Rather than making the trek to a retail pharmacy off campus, Emory patients now have access to a full-service pharmacy onsite.

The Pharmacy at Emory is open for business on the second floor of The Emory Clinic, building A, near the skywalk to Emory University Hospital. It offers prescription drugs that patients would find at a local pharmacy, over-the-counter medicines, and medications that are sometimes more difficult to find (such as those for treating certain types of cancer and transplant medicines). Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. To contact the Pharmacy at Emory, call 404-778-2022.
