Meet Our Physicians
The Hyperbaric Medicine Unit at Emory University Hospital Midtown has been providing hyperbaric services to the Atlanta community since 1990. Certified Hyperbaric Nurses and Physicians staff this facility. There are four large monoplace chambers for treatments that begin at 7:00 a.m. for patient convenience.
Emory University Hospital Midtown's Hyperbaric Medicine Unit is available 24 hours a day for emergency treatments. All "on-call" physicians are Board Certified in Emergency Medicine.
Daniel J. Beless, M.D.
Dr. Beless served as Director of Emory University Hospital Midtown Emergency Department for over 13 years and was on the faculty of Emory University Department of Emergency Medicine. He has been practicing Hyperbaric Medicine full time since 1998 with Hyperbaric Physicians of Georgia. He is the director of the Emory University Hospital Midtown Hyperbaric Medicine Unit. Dr. Beless is active in lecturing for the Emory University Medical School and residency programs on Hyperbaric Medicine and Advanced Wound Care Therapy. |
Jann L. Blanton, M.D.
Dr. Blanton has practiced Hyperbaric Medicine since 1999, as well as Emergency Medicine. She is also a part time clinical instructor for the Emory Emergency Medicine Department at Grady Memorial Hospital. As a personal interest, she is an avid recreational diver with advanced certification. |
Helen B. Gelly, M.D.
Dr. Gelly has practiced Hyperbaric Medicine full time since 1993. She has lectured nationally on Hyperbaric Medicine and Wound Healing for many years. She is actively involved on the national level to increase the acceptance of Hyperbaric Medicine as a treatment modality. Locally, she continues to lecture to recreational diving groups, as well as to the Medical School and Residency Programs at Emory University. Currently, Dr. Gelly is President of the Gulf Coast Chapter of the Undersea & Hyperbaric Medical Society. |
