Application Process
Instructions for Submitting Your Application Packet
Your application packet must be complete, include all of the following items, and be submitted in ONE envelope. All information must be word processed or typed. Click on each link below to view important information and instructions:

- Declaration of Intent to Complete the Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) form or Verification Statement

- Application fee — $60.00

Deadline for applications to be submitted is usually the second week in February. Check back for the exact date.
Notification of Appointment
D & D Digital Systems will notify you regarding computer matching results. These results will be availableon the D&D Web site in April (check with D&D for the exact date). You must call Maureen McAndrews at the Emory Healthcare Dietetic Internship to accept the appointment by 5:00 EST on the established date in April. A $750 non-refundable deposit is due upon acceptance into the program. (The internship fee is $7200, and the balance is due when the program begins in August.)
1. Letter of application
The letter of application is your opportunity to express your unique personality and qualifications to the Selection Committee. Your letter should represent who you are and tie together your background and experiences that support your application. Please include the following types of information in your letter:
- Why you entered the field
- Your current professional goals
- How the Emory Hospitals Dietetic Internship will help you achieve your goals
- Autobiographical information
- Why you should be selected for the internship
- Other information you believe will be helpful to the Selection Committee
2. ADA standard application form
Applicants must submit a completed Dietetic Internship Program Application form (revised July 2005), which can be found on the Dietetic Educators of Practitioners Web site.
3. Official transcript(s)
Transcripts must be official; each must be in a sealed, signed envelope. Please include most recent transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended. If you are currently enrolled in classes, the previous semester grades should appear on the transcript.
Students with a foreign degree must have their transcripts validated by one of the CDR approved Foreign Degree Equivalency Agencies located on the CADE Web site.
4. Declaration of Intent to Complete the Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) form or Verification Statement
This form is provided by your DPD advisor and certifies that you will meet (Declaration of Intent) or have met (Verification Statement) CADE academic requirements prior to beginning supervised practice.
5. Recommendation forms
Applicants must submit three completed recommendations in sealed, signed envelopes. Recommendations should be written by professors of dietetics or other academic disciplines, advisors, and/or work supervisors. The Waiver and Recommendation forms can be found on the Dietetic Educators of Practitioners Web site
6. Application fee
An Application fee of $60.00 is assessed to cover the cost of processing your application. Please include a check in this amount, made payable to Emory University Hospital, as part of your application package. Checks are non-refundable.
