Emory Healthcare Hospital Administration Summer Internship Program

Emory Healthcare’s Hospital Administration Summer Internship is a 10-12 week, full-time program designed to provide young leaders with a comprehensive learning experience at a premier academic health system. Program participants will be exposed to hospital operations and leadership through project-based work. Project opportunities will vary and reflect both the participant’s learning goals and the needs of the hospital.

Prior to beginning the internship, the intern will finalize goals, expectations and evaluation criteria with Executive Leadership and the Program Manager. In addition to project work, candidates will have the opportunity to attend senior leadership meetings, gain exposure to other hospitals within the system, attend lunch and learns with current administrative fellows, and have the opportunity to formally present their project to the hospital's executive leadership team.

Program Requirements

The Emory Healthcare Hospital Administration Summer Internship is aimed at highly motivated individuals who are currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate level program and are interested in pursuing a career in health care.

Step 1: To be considered, applicants must electronically submit the following items during the application period.

• Cover letter in PDF format addressing interest in health care; and
• Undergraduate and graduate transcripts (unofficial copies will be accepted)

Step 2: A select number of candidates will be invited for an on-site interview. A Skype interview will be arranged in lieu of an on-site interview should an applicant be unable to attend an on-site interview.

Step 3: Offers will be extended and all other applicants will be notified of their application status.

Time Commitment

The Emory Healthcare Hospital Administration Summer Internship Program will begin in early June and will run through mid-August. Students work full time during the week on their projects and are responsible for meeting their projects’ respective deadlines throughout the summer.

Compensation

Compensation will be pre-determined by the Program Manager and Executive Leader and will be based, in part, on the student's current level of education (undergraduate or graduate) and the availability of funds.
