Want to push yourself to a higher level? Then this is the place for you. As an academic health care institution, we know first hand how important education can be and are willing to financially support our employees in their pursuit of continuing education. We offer an extensive variety of in-house learning opportunities and seminars, as well as one of the best educational reimbursement plans available anywhere. 

Organizational Development and Learning Services
Are you interested in adding new clinical skills? How about technical skills? Or what about basic desktop or patient applications? With Emory Healthcare, you can learn them all. We offer hundreds of courses for our employees on topics that range from time management skills to IDX insurance information to reentry programs for nurses. 

Employee Education Plan/Tuition Reimbursement Program
T
he Employee Education Plan/Tuition Reimbursement Program allows you to continue your education at an accredited college or university and receive reimbursements for approved tuition paid. Education must be job related or fill an identified need. Certain conditions and reimbursement amount policies apply.

Georgia Higher Education Savings Plan (529 Plan)
The Georgia Higher Education Savings Plan offers a convenient, tax-advantaged way for you to save money for your child's college education. The funds saved may be used at any accredited college, university, trade or graduate school in any state. If you have money left over in your account, you can transfer the funds to certain family members, including a sibling, first cousin or even yourself.

Skills Enhancement Program
Emory Healthcare fully supports employees who want to complete Adult Basic Education (ABE) and General Education Development (GED) diploma courses. For information, call (404) 727-7023.

For courses beginning 10/1/09 and after:

  • Employment waiting period is one year for undergraduate and  two years for graduate program
  • Work commitment of one year for undergraduate and two years for graduate
  • Performance rating requirement

Additions to the above for courses beginning 8/1/2010:

  • Full-time employee maximum reimbursement will be 18 credit hours at $7,500 for graduate or $5,250 for undergraduate
  • Part-time employee maximum reimbursement will be 18 credit hours at $3,750 for graduate or $2,625 for undergraduate
