Behavioral Health

Currently ranked 15th among the nation's top psychiatric hospitals by U.S. News and World Report, the Emory Healthcare Adult Inpatient Psychiatry Service specializes in the treatment of patients with difficult-to-manage psychiatric illnesses.

Emory Healthcare adult inpatient psychiatry/behavioral health registered nurses demonstrate an ongoing ability to effectively assess, plan, implement and evaluate delivery of patient care. They apply the Synergy Model for Care in practice and use this knowledge to personalize care for each patient and family. They serve as a resource to colleagues and are a strong advocate for our patients and families.

Cardiology

Emory Healthcare's Heart & Vascular Center has been consistently recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the top heart health centers in the nation. Cardiology services include cardiac cath labs, cardiac PET/CT, electrophysiology labs, inpatient cardiology/cardiac care units and outpatient cardiac services.

Cardiology nurses at Emory Healthcare have acquired broad experiences in caring for complex cardiac patients. They apply the Synergy Model for Care in practice and use this knowledge to personalize care for each patient and family. In addition, they serve as a resource to colleagues and are a strong advocate for patients and families.

Clinic/Physician practice

The Emory Clinic includes specialist, sub-specialist and primary care locations throughout the metro Atlanta area.

Nurses on the Emory Clinic team use their acquired knowledge, theory, research and experience to provide patient- and family-centered care. They partner with a multidisciplinary team to transform the delivery of that care.

Critical Care

Emory Healthcare has many specialty critical care units, including cardiovascular, cardiac care, medical, neuroscience, orthopaedics and spine, and surgical ICUs. Three of these ICUs have been honored with the Beacon Award for Critical Care Excellence from the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses. Just six units in Georgia have received this award.

Critical care nurses at Emory Healthcare use their acquired knowledge, theory, research and experience to respond to changes in clinical situations. They apply the Synergy Model for Care in practice and use this knowledge to personalize care for each patient and family.

Emergency Departments

The emergency departments at Emory Healthcare have an estimated 100,000 patient visits per year. They maintain certifications for chest pain with PCI (percutaneous coronary intervention), bariatric and stroke. Opportunities in emergency department nursing are available at Emory Johns Creek Hospital, Emory University Hospital, Emory University Hospital Midtown and Emory Saint Joseph's Hospital.

In particular, Emory Healthcare is seeking emergency department nurse clinicians. Within the emergency departments at Emory Healthcare, nurse clinicians routinely use acquired knowledge, theory, research and experience to respond to ever-changing clinical situations. They require a broad experience in caring for emergency department patients.

Endoscopy

At Emory Healthcare, nurses specializing in endoscopy are highly capable clinicians who have acquired broad experience and understanding of the care required for this patient population. They serve as a resource to colleagues and a strong advocate for patients and their families.

In particular, Emory Healthcare is seeking endoscopy nurse clinicians for Emory Johns Creek Hospital, Emory University Hospital and Emory University Hospital Midtown.

Medical Units

General medicine nursing opportunities at Emory Healthcare include ambulatory general medicine clinics, general medicine units, medical telemetry, nephrology, neurology, pulmonary and more. The nurses on these units serve as a resource to colleagues and are a strong advocate for their patients and families.

Nurse Practitioners/Advanced Practice RNs

Throughout the Emory Healthcare system, these team members collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to lead the transformation of care. They are advocates of patient- and family-centered care and partner with the full medical team to manage high-quality delivery of patient care. Nurse practitioners/advanced practice RNs at Emory Healthcare work in outpatient and inpatient clinical areas.

Nursing Leadership

At Emory Healthcare, members of nursing leadership transform patient care; direct all aspects of management; ensure the provision of optimum patient and family care; and provide leadership in the development, implementation and evaluation of policies, procedures, strategies and services for the unit.

Opportunities in nursing leadership include nursing unit director positions for Dialysis, Neuro ICU, Cardiology, Women's Health and more.

Oncology

The next great discovery in cancer research and treatment could occur at any time. However, this can happen only with a focus on commitment, care and collaboration. And that's just what the oncology nursing staff at Emory Healthcare delivers. The team is committed to patient- and family-centered care and advancing the delivery of care.

Emory Healthcare oncology nurses demonstrate an ongoing ability to effectively assess, plan, implement and evaluate delivery of patient care. Specialized skills include the ability to administer complicated chemotherapy regiments and implement steps for symptom management.

Of note: Emory Winship Cancer Institute is the only cancer treatment center in Georgia to be National Cancer Institute (NCI) designated.

Perioperative/Surgical Services (including Operating Room)

Opportunities for perioperative nurses (both inpatient and outpatient) include advanced laparoscopic procedures, cardiac, ENT, general surgery, gynecology, neurosurgery, oncology, ophthalmology, orthopaedics and spine, thoracic, transplant (heart, liver, lung, pancreas, kidney), PACU and vascular. 

In particular, Emory Healthcare and Emory Saint Joseph's Hospital are seeking perioperative nurse clinicians to become a part of our highly collaborative surgical team. Nurses on the surgical team take part in historic breakthroughs and extraordinary moments. They acquire broad knowledge and experience in caring for the surgical patient population.

In fact, the Emory Transplant Center is Georgia’s most comprehensive transplant center for hand, heart, islet, kidney, liver, lung and pancreas transplantation.
 
Emory Healthcare is seeking nursing team members to join the center’s highly skilled staff of transplant specialists in the delivery of transplant treatment and support.
 

Women's Health

Emory Healthcare's inpatient women's health services are located at Emory University Hospital Midtown and Emory Johns Creek Hospital. Emory Healthcare also offers a wide array of outpatient OB/GYN/reproductive services through our Emory Clinic.

Opportunities in our women's services include APU, labor and delivery, mother/baby (couplet care), OB/GYN, OR, reproductive services and transitional care. Opportunities are also available in Emory Healthcare's 24-bed, level-three neonatal ICU.
