H. Joon Kim, MD

H. Joon Kim, MD, specializes in medical and surgical management of adults and children with eyelid, eye socket, and tear drainage problems.  Her practice has a diverse scope that includes patients with tumors of the eyelid and eye socket, neurologic conditions such as facial nerve palsies and blepharospasm, autoimmune diseases including thyroid eye diseases and sarcoidosis, injuries to the periocular region from trauma, children with birth defects, and much more.  She also performs injections (BotoxÒ,XeominÒ, and facial fillers) and surgeries for her cosmetic patients.

She provides patient care at the Emory Eye Center, Children’s Hospital of Atlanta at Egleston, and Emory Midtown.  She also teaches and supervises residents and fellows at the Atlanta VA Medical Center and Grady Memorial Hospital.

Her research interests include orbital implants, infectious processes of the orbit, eyelid and orbital tumors, and thyroid eye disease.

National Recognition

Dr. Kim is board-certified in ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) and the American Medical Association (AMA). She has published articles and book chapters in peer-reviewed publications and has presented at national meetings.
