Annual Infection Control Campaign: October 1-December 31
What You Need To Know to Protect Your Privileges
Our first priority at EMORY HEALTHCARE (EHC) is to care for the health and safety of our patients and their families. In light of the increased risks posed this year by the combination of pandemic novel H1N1 influenza and seasonal influenza, we are mandating seasonal influenza vaccination for all EHC staff and providers. Annual Infection Control Training and Assessment is again a mandatory obligation for all providers. To retain your privileges, you must do two things:
- Complete the annual Infection Control Training and Assessment by Thursday, December 31, 2009. The annual Infection Control Training and Assessment campaign kicks off October 1. The campaign completion date was moved to December 31 to coincide with our mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination campaign.
- Receive the seasonal influenza vaccination (not novel H1N1 vaccination) by December 31, 2009. Exceptions will be made for those with a medical contraindication or religious objection. To ensure compliance with EMORY HEALTHCARE's seasonal influenza vaccination mandate, you are required to provide documentation if you have been vaccinated elsewhere or have a medical contraindication. If you are requesting a religious exemption, you must sign an attestation form. Documentation must be submitted to Cindy Hall in Employee Health 404-686-7947 or cynthia.hall@emoryhealthcare.org.
The influenza vaccination campaign is Monday, September 14, through Sunday, October 18, with an absolute deadline of Thursday, December 31, 2009. Providers can get vaccinated for free at any Employee Health location or flu shot events coordinated throughout EMORY HEALTHCARE. To find a time convenient for you, log on to the home page of the intranet (www.eushc.org) and click the flu shot schedule. Or, contact Employee Health at 404-728-6437.
