  • Obstetrics Rapid Response Team — we have a physician available in the hospital 24 hours a day/7 days a week to care for you during your labor and delivery. Our team works in 12 hour shifts to ensure the safety of you and your baby.
  • Located on the third level of Emory University Hospital Midtown, the birthing center includes 11 labor and delivery rooms, 36 mother-baby suites, and general and special care nurseries — all located on one floor. In a soothing, home-like setting, parents receive expert attention coupled with a caring atmosphere that makes their experience of bringing life into the world extra special.
  • This Center is specifically designed to uphold and carry out our philosophy of developmentally supportive care, a highly specialized and nurturing care that encourages family involvement and ensures the best development of infants. They were the first to bring this philosophy, originally developed for premature infants, to the south. Today, they apply that same special care to all of the newborns.

From birth, newborns are placed in the same room as their mothers and fathers so they can immediately begin to bond.
