Senior Administrator, Emory Hospital Medicine
Daniel S. Owens is the Senior Administrator for the Division of Hospital Medicine, Director of Operations for the Center for Critical Care, Director of Internal Medicine Revenue Cycle and Director of General Internal Medicine at Emory Healthcare and Emory University. Mr. Owens graduated from Emory University and is a Fellow of the Woodruff Leadership Academy. Mr. Owens is the current Chairman of the Society of Hospital Medicine Administrators’ Task Force and is an active member of the Society of Hospital Medicine, Health Care Financial Management Association and the American College of Health Care Executives.
Prior to joining the Section of Hospital Medicine, Mr. Owens has served in many roles over his fifteen year career at Emory. He was the Financial Administrator for the Woodruff Health Sciences at Emory University where he was responsible for creating standardized financial reporting and accountability for a $1.2 Billion Academic Health Center. Mr. Owens also worked as the Corporate Controller for Emory Healthcare. Mr. Owens is passionate about quality improvement in the patient care arena and in the non-direct patient care arena. He is certified in LEAN quality improvement and enjoys working with clinicians and employees to help standardize processes.
