Prasad H Rao MD, MRCP is Assistant Professor of Medicine and Director of Hospital Medicine at Cartersville Medical Center. He completed his undergraduate training in Medicine at Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore, India and worked at the institution for 3 years as Assistant Professor of Medicine. Subsequently he went to the United Kingdom and after completing his further training qualified for Membership for the Royal College of Medicine, London. After obtaining the MRCP, he undertook training in Endocrinology for 4 years, before moving to the USA.
Dr. Rao completed his Internal Medicine residency in Lincoln Hospital, New York,(Affiliated to Cornell University). While he was at Lincoln Medical Center he was Chief Resident in Medicine for the final One and a Half Years.Dr. Rao is currently the Director of Hospital Medicine at Cartersville. He has been working at Cartersville Medical Center for the last 4 and a half years. During his tenure, he has served in various committees including the Peer Review committee, Throughout Committee, Pharmaceuticals and Therapeutics Committee and is currently serving in the Critical Care Committee and Medical Executive Committee.
