Interventional radiology and image-guided medicine is a specialty to treat diseases without surgery by guiding tiny tubes (catheters) or applicatiors through your body's vessels and organs using X-rays, ultrasound, CT and MR to guide them. This allows interventionalists to deliver medications directly to disease sites, open blocked blood vessels, obtain biopsies and perform a range of other procedures.
