There are volunteer opportunities throughout Emory Johns Creek Hospital. Clinical and non-clinical departments welcome volunteers as part of their regular staff.

We believe that volunteers add a valued dimension to patient care in nearly every hospital department and want to thank you for your interest in becoming a part of the Emory Johns Creek family. We fully recognize that volunteers are an integral part of the care we provide and want you to know we value you, the time you give, and the service you provide our staff, our physicians and our patients. How to Get Involved: VolunTEEN Program

The VolunTeen Program is currently accepting applications for the 2018 summer program. The 6-week Program runs from June 18th to July 27th, 2018.

The application packet is due back to Emory Johns Creek Hospital no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, March 30, 2018. To ensure the quality of the Program, there are limited spaces available. Interviews for the first 100 applicants will be held on April 21, 2018. All applicants will be informed of their status on or about May 4, 2018. There is a mandatory attendance to hospital orientation on June 4, 2018.


  • You must be 16 years of age by June 1, 2018 and a rising sophomore, junior or senior in high school. College students may also apply and are accepted on a first come, first serve basis.
  • Have an interest in healthcare
  • Complete the VolunTEEN application and all other required parent permission forms by deadline
  • Submit Immunization Records (MMR, DPT & Varicella/Chicken Pox) and complete two tuberculosis (TB) testing from EJCH Employee Health
  • Be able to complete one 8 hour of service per week for 5 weeks of the 6 week program. Service hour certificates and an invitation to return the following summer will only be released if the minimum of 40 hours has been completed.
  • Mandatory attendance to June 4, 2018 hospital orientation.

  3. Once submission of required documents is complete, you will be contacted to schedule your orientation date.

Once we receive your application and the required documents, you will be contacted to schedule an orientation date. Following your orientation, a full interview will be conducted to learn a little about you and to see where your strengths and desires may fit with the hospital's availabilities and needs. At the interview, you may be given a tour of the various departments where volunteers are placed.

A variety of positions are available throughout the hospital for morning, afternoon, weekend, and evening shifts.

Staff Support (schedules vary)

The following departments accept volunteers on a regular basis, subject to availability. Shifts range from weekday mornings, weekday afternoons, nights, as well as weekends; Emergency Department, Laboratory, Marketing, Medical Unit, Nutrition Services, Surgical Unit, Women's Services.

The following departments accept volunteers on a regular basis, subject to availability with shifts weekday mornings and weekday afternoons only: Administration, Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Infusion Center, Outpatient Surgery, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, Radiology, Registration, Radiology Observation Care Unit, Surgery Wait Room.

Hospitality (schedules vary)

Birth Place Tours, Thursdays 6:00 p.m. and Saturdays 10:00 a.m.

Concierge Desk – 7 days per week; Mornings, Afternoons and Nights

Emergency Department Waiting Room – 7 days per week; Morning, Afternoons and Nights

Gift Shop – Weekdays only, 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Golf Cart Transport Team – Weekdays only, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
