Prenatal Classes and Yoga
We recommend that you and your partner attend prenatal classes to become familiar with pregnancy, the birth process, postpartum, newborn care and breastfeeding. To help you prepare for the birth of your new baby, we have developed an extensive prenatal education program. We encourage you and your support person to take advantage of these classes. Please see below for a listing and description of our classes.
PRENATAL CLASSES
Prepared Childbirth
Our Prepared Childbirth series is most helpful two to three months before your due date. You and your support person are invited to attend any of our classes — no matter what your previous experience with pregnancy!
Designed to provide you and your support person with the information and skills you need to approach the birth process with confidence and skill. Discussions include birthing options, current obstetrical practices, pain management strategies, as well as many breathing and relaxation techniques. A tour of our facility is included.
Cost: $100
VBAC Preparation — You Can Do It!
This class is designed for the mother and family who plan to have a vaginal birth after a cesarean (VBAC). This class includes concerns of the VBAC mom, writing a birth plan and the opportunity to meet other moms who are planning to have a VBAC.

Breastfeeding Your Newborn
A two-part class which answers your questions about breastfeeding. Discussion and handouts provide you the information you need to have a positive breastfeeding experience. Taught by a certified lactation specialist.
Part I: Breastfeeding Your Newborn — focuses on getting started, teaching the benefits of breastfeeding and proper positioning techniques
Cost: $25 per couple
Part II: Breastfeeding Your Growing Baby — includes returning to work, pumping, storing your milk and taking care of yourself as you breastfeed your growing baby.
Cost: $15 per couple
Newborn Care and Behavior
A two-and-a-half-hour class designed to answer your questions about the early days and weeks of life with your newborn. Discussion, demonstrations and videos will help you learn what to expect and how to care for and enjoy your baby!
Cost: $20 per couple
Infant Safety and CPR
A two-hour class covering accident prevention and infant CPR. Taught by American Heart Association certified instructors. Babysitters and other family members are welcome to take this class. This class may be taken before or after delivery.
Cost: $40 per individual, $50 per couple
My Time: Just for Brothers and Sisters
Boys and girls between the ages of three and eight have an opportunity to learn about their new baby brothers or sisters. Group discussion, sharing, videos and art activities make this class fun for the soon-to-be new big brother or sister. A tour of the maternity area from a child's point of view is included.
Cost: $10 per child
Young and Pregnant
If you are a teenager who is going to have a baby, then you are invited to attend classes designed especially for you. The classes cover what you need to know to get ready for the labor and birth of your baby as well as baby care. The classes are casual and fun with other teen moms as your classmates.
