New OB-GYN chief of service and education vice chair join Emory's Department of Gynecology & Obstetrics

Peter S. Heyl, MD, an expert in maternal-fetal medicine, has been appointed chief of service of Gynecology & Obstetrics at Emory University Hospital Midtown (EUHM), as well as associate professor in the Department of Gynecology & Obstetrics, Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Emory University School of Medicine. His wife, Adair R. Heyl, PhD, also joins Emory as vice chair of education and assistant professor of Gynecology & Obstetrics. The Heyls come to Emory from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia, where Peter Heyl served on the faculty for 17 years. Prior to that, he was on the faculty of Harvard Medical School. Adair Heyl served as associate program director of the OB-GYN residency program at Eastern Virginia Medical School, and also managed the obstetrics and gynecology simulation lab at Norfolk General Hospital. Peter Heyl also will serve as medical director of the Emory Perinatal Center, located at EUHM.
