Emory Neurosciences
Emory neurosciences is the home to specialty programs including Emory’s neurology, neurosurgery, rehabilitation, and psychiatry. Considered the crown jewel of the human body, the brain is the source of intelligence, interpreter of the senses, initiator of body movement, and controller of behavior. Unfortunately, the brain is also at the root of a variety of complex mental and neurological disorders. These challenges prompt opportunities, as well as responsibilities, to develop new techniques and approaches for integrating and advancing the understanding of the nervous system, and that’s where the Emory neurosciences team excels.
The Emory University Neurosciences Academic Program is the backbone that fuels the neurological innovation taking place in Emory's clinical arm. With collaborative knowledge and expertise of over 135 physicians spanning a variety of disciplines, groundbreaking treatments and unexpected solutions are a common occurrence. For example, we’re the only health care system in Georgia currently removing colloid cysts endoscopically and the only hospital in Georgia ranked for neurology, neurosurgery and psychiatry by U.S. New & World Report five years in a row. And we’ll continue to play a key role innovating treatments for neurological disease.
