Headache

HeadacheA headache is pain anywhere in the region of the head or neck. It can be a symptom of a number of different conditions of the head and neck. The most common types of headache are the "primary headache disorders", which include  migraines and tension-type headache. Other primary headache disorders include trigeminal neuralgia, cluster headache and hemicrania continua. Symptoms can include pain, giddiness, nausea, vomiting and blurriness of vision.

How is Headache treated?
The treatment depends of effectively managing the underlying pathology which causes the headache. Tricyclic antidepressants often act as an effective treatment for chronic headaches. Drugs such as ergotamine may be also used to effectively treat migraines.
