Jason Higdon, MD

Dr. Higdon

Jason Higdon is a Board Certified Internist who joined The Emory Clinic as a Primary Care Physician in 2010. He is devoted to high quality and personalized primary care. He is also dedicated to medical education within the Emory University School of Medicine, teaching both medical students and internal medicine residents. Dr. Higdon is originally from the Memphis, Tennessee area and graduated from Christian Brothers University with a degree in Biology. He moved to Atlanta to attend medical school at Emory, which he finished in 2007 and then stayed at Emory to complete an Internal Medicine residency. He spends his free time with friends and enjoying the outdoors.

Jennifer Zreloff, MD

Jennifer Zreloff joined The Emory Clinic in 2000. Since that time she has been an active Primary Care Provider with special interests in prevention and women’s health. She has also been an active teacher in Emory’s medical school and residency program. Dr. Zreloff began her education at the Georgia Institute of Technology where she majored in Chemical Engineering. She graduated from University of Alabama School of Medicine in 1997 and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Oregon Health Sciences University in 2000. She is married with two daughters and enjoys cooking in her spare time.

Regina Martin, RN

Regina Martin

Regina Martin is a Registered Nurse who has practiced in a variety of settings since 1992. She began her career at The University of South Alabama Medical Center as a staff nurse in Pediatric Intensive Care.  She moved to Georgia in 1994 and came to the Pediatric Emergency Room at Hughes Spalding Children’s Hospital here in Atlanta.  She was promoted to Assistant Clinical Manager in 1996 and enjoyed a successful career there until she accepted a position with Kaiser Permanente. She has now been with The Emory Clinic since March 2011. She achieved her degree at Tennessee State University and Bishop State College, and she ultimately plans to go back for her Masters degree in 2012. She is originally from Mobile, Alabama. What she loves most about her job is making a positive difference in peoples’ lives. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, fine dining and live music.

Lan P. Nguyen, RN

Lan Nguyen

Lan P. Nguyen is a Georgia Board Registered Nurse. She started her education at the University of Georgia in Athens and transferred to Georgia Baptist College of Nursing at Mercer University in Atlanta where she achieved her Bachelors of Science, Nursing in 2008. She worked on a general medicine floor at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, GA for over two years before she came to Emory in the Summer of 2011. Currently, she is enrolled with the Graduate School of Nursing at the University of Alabama Birmingham for her Masters of Science in Nursing with a focus on the Adult Clinical Nurse Specialist role. Her passion in healthcare lies with health promotion, maintenance and education. Outside of working and studying, she enjoys reading, spending time with her loved ones and seeking out new eating establishments.

LaJuana Jones, LPN

LaJuana Jones

LaJuana has worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for over 25 years. She received her degree from Pensacola Jr. College in Pensacola, Florida where she is originally from. She joined The Emory Clinic in 1998, originally working for Internal Medicine Emory Clinic North. As far as she can remember LaJuana always wanted to be a nurse. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family.

Bridgette Clarke, CMA

Bridgette Clarke

Bridgette Clarke began her career with Emory in June 2011 and has an experienced background as a Certified Medical Assistant for nearly six years. She is originally from Jamaica and completed her first degree at Fayetteville Technical Community College. Currently, she is enrolled with the University of Phoenix to pursue a career as a Clinical Psychologist. She is driven to be an advocate for patients and help those in their time of difficulty and illness. Outside of her career, she is an Army spouse of 15 years, a mother of three boys, and spends her free time with family and cooking.

Kimeka Vayens, CMA

Kimeka Vayens

Kimeka Vayens is an established Certified Medical Assistant who has practiced for three years after completing her education at Georgia Perimeter College and DeKalb Technical College. She is originally from Heidelberg, MS, but has lived in Atlanta, GA since 1997. She has an accomplished military background, having been active in the Army until 2006. Her current goal is to complete her education for a Bachelors of Science in Nursing. Kimeka has military experience as a Non-Commissioned Officer in the US Army and having been at war in Iraq highlights her ambitions for the dedication it takes to care for someone you don’t know. For this reason, she chose to pursue a career in health care. She joined The Emory Clinic in June of 2011. Aside from work, she enjoys cooking gourmet meals and sweets and spending time with her family and friends.

Amanda Letaw

Amanda Letaw

Amanda Letaw, Patient Services Coordinator, graduated with a degree in Political Science from Loyola University New Orleans in 2009. After graduation, Amanda returned to her native Atlanta and began working at The Emory Clinic. She aspires to become an Occupational Therapist, specializing in Animal-Assisted Therapy. In her free time Amanda enjoys exploring Atlanta and spending time with animals.

Kara Z. McDaniel, PhD, NCC, LPC

Kara Z. McDaniel

Kara McDaniel is a Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor and a Clinical Member with the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy. She obtained her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Louisiana-Monroe. In 2007, she completed her doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy from Kansas State University.

Kara has specialized training in Marriage and Family Therapy, and over the past 15 years, she has worked in a variety of professional, clinical and educational settings. Her clinical experience includes working with individuals, couples and families from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds who have struggled with issues pertaining to depression, anxiety, stress, parenting, co-parenting, grief and loss, pet loss, and marital, relationship and family distress.

On a more personal level, Kara has a great love for animals and enjoys spending time with her husband, family, and friends, playing tennis, dining out, gazing at the changing colors of fall, traveling, watching movies, listening to music, and attending professional baseball games.

Ashley Owen, PhD

Ashley Owen

Ashley Owen is a Licensed Psychologist with specialized training in the reciprocal effects of medical illness and psychological processes as well as women's health issues. Ashley has worked with individuals from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds and she has a variety of clinical specialty areas addressing issues such as depression, anxiety, adjustment to pregnancy, smoking addiction, chronic illnesses, and intimate partner abuse.

Ashley is married and stays busy at home with her new baby girl.
